Gloucestershire County Council, is seeking a Social Worker for its Kinship Support team.

This is a full-time post, lasting 3-4 months initially and the pay rate is £35 umbrella.

The role will involve the following:

  • We require an agency Social Worker who has experience in fostering to join the Kinship Support Team. 
  • The role includes supporting and supervising foster carers to ensure they provide the best quality care to meet the needs of vulnerable children as set out in their care plan.
  • Safeguarding is our priority, and we ensure that households comply with the National Minimum Standards for fostering.
  • We supervise 190 fostering households in the team, run support groups and support with foster carer training.
  • Undertake annual reviews, hold a caseload, and help with identifying placements for children. 
  • Regular reflective supervision is prioritised by managers in the team, opportunities to learn and develop skills are available.
  • We are committed to ensuring we have a flexible workforce who can manage their work and home life, and as part of this we are embracing a hybrid model of working which will include both working at home and in the office.

Requirements of the role:

  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Fully Social Work England registered
  • Must have strong post-qualified experience working in a fostering setting and able to carry out the duties as detailed above
