Metrology Applications EngineerLocation: Gloucester

We are seeking an experienced individual in engineering and/or metrology with a technical, open-minded approach to solving engineering challenges.

Job Purpose:The engineering team is dedicated to developing innovative products and solutions for customers through product demonstrations, application development, design, and contract measurement services.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the sales team by providing technical knowledge and engineering solutions through product demonstrations and reports for both existing and prospective customers.
  • Design and develop solutions focused on automation, fixturing, and software to enhance the current product range.
  • Manage and deliver exceptional contract measurement services.
  • Conduct machine installations, calibration, commissioning, and training at customer sites.
  • Offer on-site, phone, email, and remote help desk support (both pre and post-sales) to the sales team and customers.
  • Additional duties include setting up, breaking down, and providing specialized application support for exhibition stands.
  • Ensure excellent housekeeping standards in all customer-facing activities and areas.
  • Create product training materials through presentations, manuals, and videos.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or science.
  • Experience with automation and development is highly desirable.
  • A background in metrology or inspection is a plus.
  • Experience in 3D CAD design and drafting is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Initiative to take a solution from concept to application using engineering skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
