A fantastic mainstream Secondary school in Bradley Stoke is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs, both 1:1 and in small groups. Experience in a similar role is required to be considered for this post. The school would ideally like someone to begin immediately, but can wait for the right candidate.

The Secondary School is looking for someone with:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification, but ideally a degree

  • Experience working with ASD in any setting

  • Confidence to work with challenging behaviour

  • Team Teach training or similar desirable

  • Experience working with non-verbal ASD and/or high functioning autism

  • Previous SEN Teaching Assistant experience

  • Makaton/PECS training desirable

  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSEs in Maths and English - Grade 4 or above)

  • Good communication skills
