You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the unique needs of students with complex learning profiles. This role requires creativity, flexibility, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with SEND. The age you will teach will depend on experience. The school is open to applications from part-time or full-time candidates. Main Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individualised lessons tailored to students' developmental stages and abilities.
- Ensure each student receives the attention and support they need.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes engagement and progress.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals to deliver holistic support.
- Develop and implement individual education plans to track and enhance student progress.
- Support students' social, emotional, and physical development, ensuring their well-being is prioritised.
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and carers to ensure continuity and consistency.
Essential Criteria
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience working with students with complex needs, including PMLD, SLD, or Autism.
- Strong understanding of SEND and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Ability to differentiate lessons and resources to meet individual needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching.
Desirable Criteria
- Additional SEND qualifications or training.
- Experience working in a specialist or alternative provision.
- Knowledge of sensory integration strategies and communication systems (e.g., Makaton, PECS).
