About the Company

Our client is a well-established engineering company specialising in the design, supply, and installation of high-quality, tailor-made metal fabrications, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium products. Having operated successfully for over 20 years, they have grown year on year purely through word-of-mouth and industry reputation, without a dedicated sales or marketing function. They are now looking for their first-ever Sales team member to help drive new business growth and take the company to the next level.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and driven individual to establish and lead the sales function within the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, building relationships with clients, and driving revenue growth. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a well-established and financially stable company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a proactive sales strategy to generate new business opportunities.

  • Identify and approach potential clients in industries such as construction, manufacturing, and engineering.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.

  • Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and technical information to prospective clients.

  • Work closely with the technical and production teams to ensure client requirements are met.

  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals.

  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, pipelines, and forecasts.

  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the company.

Requirements & Experience
  • Proven experience in a sales role, ideally within engineering, metal fabrication, manufacturing, or a related industry.

  • Strong business development skills with the ability to generate leads and close deals.

  • Knowledge of metal fabrication, mild steel, stainless steel, or aluminium products is highly desirable.

  • Ability to understand technical specifications and effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical clients.

  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
