Are you an experienced Transport Planner looking for a new challenge?We have an exciting opportunity to manage the transport desk of an established haulage and agriculture family-owned business.Job Description: As the Transport Planner, you will be responsible for the efficient planning and coordination of general haulage operations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong customer service and organisational skills with experience in transport planning. The successful candidate will ensure effective utilisation of the fleet, adherence to delivery schedules, and compliance with all transport regulations.Your Responsibilities:
  • Create transport plans for general haulage operations to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Optimise routing and scheduling of vehicles to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage drivers, providing clear instructions and support regarding routes, schedules, and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor and adjust transport plans as necessary to address changes in demand or unforeseen issues.
  • Maintain vehicle records related to usage, ensuring vehicles are in good working condition and scheduled for regular servicing.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure all general haulage operations comply with relevant regulations, including health and safety, environmental policies, and legal requirements.
  • Stay up to date with changes in transport legislation and industry best practices.
Your Experience:
  • Proficiency in transport planning software.
  • Proven experience in transport planning, particularly within the general haulage sector.
  • Strong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
