Are you a skilled software developer with a passion for innovation and excellence? Our client, a software company providing a critical service to some of the biggest organisations in the world, is going from strength to strength and is on the lookout for a Python/Java Software Developer to join their growing team.


Role Overview: In this position, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining Linux applications. You will collaborate with a diverse team to ensure high-quality application implementation and contribute to the development of a large-scale management appliance.


Please note: This is a mid-level position suited to someone with several years' commercial Python, Java & Linux development experience - please see below for details.


Responsibilities:

  • Create and sustain software applications using Python (3.8+) and Java (JDK17+).
  • Work alongside developers, QA engineers, stakeholders, and management.
  • Maintain high standards of quality throughout the development process.
  • Manage and configure Linux-based systems (RedHat, Ubuntu, SUSE Linux).
  • Occasionally handle UNIX-based systems (AIX, Solaris).


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Expertise in Python and Java programming.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, TypeScript, JavaScript, Bash, and PowerShell is beneficial.
  • Strong proficiency in Linux; Windows skills are a plus.
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and server migration software is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies, continuous integration, and continuous testing.
