About the Role

Empowering Learning are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school located in Bramley, Surrey. Our school is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment where every student can thrive and develop their potential.

In this role, you will support students both academically and emotionally, working closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive learning experience. You will help students with SEMH needs engage in the curriculum and develop essential skills for personal and academic growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a supportive and structured environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt lessons, ensuring all students can participate fully.
  • Support students in developing positive social interactions and emotional regulation.
  • Help implement individualise support plans and behavioural strategies.
  • Contribute to a safe, welcoming atmosphere where students feel valued and understood.
About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Empathetic and patient, with a genuine interest in working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Adaptable and resilient, able to handle challenges with a calm and positive approach.
  • A team player, capable of collaborating effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
  • Experience in SEMH or SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) settings is highly beneficial, but we also welcome applicants who bring a strong commitment to supporting students and are eager to learn.
