Empowering Learning are recruiting on behalf of a special school for pupils with Social Emotional and Mental health needs (SEMH) and are looking for an exceptional practitioner to be a pivotal part of their team, dedicated to making a real impact in the lives of our pupils.

Position: Teaching Assistant; Supporting pupils with SEMH (Social emotional Mental health)

Location: Godalming, Surrey

Contract: Hours are 8AM to 4PM- 5 days a week. They may be open to part-time too

About the Role: As a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will be at the forefront of making a difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. We are looking for a dedicated, adaptable, and energetic practitioner to join thei school team and work closely with school leadership and teaching team. This role will be a largely non class based role.

Responsibilities:
* To work collaboratively with teachers in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of the
effectiveness of the curriculum for pupils, and to ensure that pupils can access the curriculum content
taking into consideration their individual needs.
* To undertake activities to monitor the personal, social and emotional needs of pupils.
* To develop positive relationships with pupils to promote pupil progress and attainment.
* To support pupils as part of a planned inclusion programme.
* To assist in the development of varying skills that support pupils' learning.
* To assist in the specific medical/care needs of pupils when specific training has been undertaken.
* To plan, supervise, and lead small groups of pupils or individual pupils who need specific intervention.
