Our client based in the heart of Godalming is seeking an IT Support Technician to join their growing IT department. As a Support Technician you will be responsible for supporting basic network tasks and configuring software, as the successful candidate develops in the role they will have opportunities to work on more complex tasks such as hardware planning, IT management and programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up workstations, printers, and scanners
  • Configuring software
  • Providing technical support to end-users
  • Managing user accounts via Active Directory
  • Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues
  • Supporting basic network tasks (DNS, DHCP)
  • Hardware planning
  • IT management
  • Programming

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in IT support or a similar field is required.
  • While not mandatory, any Microsoft Certified qualification or relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) would be advantageous.
  • Windows 10/11
  • PCs and Laptops (configuration and setup)
  • Hardware troubleshooting
  • Active Directory
  • Windows Server administration
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Office 365 (Microsoft 365) administration
  • Basic networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP)
  • PowerShell scripting
  • VMWare
  • Backup solutions (Veeam)
  • Mobile Device Management (Intune)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A positive attitude and a good sense of humour
  • Self-motivated, with a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving
  • A desire to grow within the company and contribute to the development of IT systems
