The Role

As the Librarian, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the library services and fostering a culture of reading and research among the pupils.

You will work closely with the Senior and Research Librarian to ensure the library is a welcoming and resource-rich environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Cataloguing and classifying new stock and managing library subscriptions.
  • Promoting a love of reading through engaging activities and programs.
  • Assisting students in developing their independent research skills.
  • Supervising library staff and volunteers while ensuring a positive experience for all users.

Skills

  • Literate and numerate, with excellent IT skills.
  • Enthusiastic about reading and education, with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Committed to safeguarding the welfare of our students.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Desirable: A degree in Library/Information Studies or a related field.
