Join our dedicated team as a Senior Living Officer for a temporary assignment of approximately 8 weeks. This role is crucial in enhancing the lives of our residents by promoting independence and ensuring their safety. It is ideal for someone passionate about making a significant impact in the community and fostering a supportive environment for our senior residents.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Act as a management presence on-site to ensure the safety and independence of tenants and to reduce the impacts of social isolation.
  • Manage building maintenance effectively and ensure tenancy management processes, including sign-ups, are handled efficiently.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, providing a safe and secure environment for tenants.
  • Provide intensive housing management support, assisting tenants in managing their tenancies and promoting independent living.
  • Manage the safe operation of technical systems, such as fire alarms and emergency procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Conduct routine health and safety tests and manage the letting of properties, addressing voids promptly.
  • Engage with community groups and promote the Senior Living schemes to maximize occupancy and enhance community integration.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Numerate and literate to at least GCSE standard, with NVQ/QCF in an appropriate discipline desirable.
  • Experience in local government or a similar role, preferably involving work with older, disabled, or vulnerable people.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety management and safeguarding principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in computer applications like Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work unsupervised, organize workload effectively, and make informed decisions.
  • A full driving licence and the ability to travel around Surrey regularly.
  • A valid DBS check is required for this position.
