Milk education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Teaching Assistant In Godalmingto support students with a range of complex needs, including learning, physical, and sensory difficulties.
In this rewarding role, you will work closely with both students and educational staff to help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive. Your primary responsibility will be to support students in accessing the curriculum, fostering independence, and ensuring their well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with complex needs.
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and communication, following care plans.
- Support social, emotional, and behavioral development to ensure students feel safe and included.
- Implement and track IEPs, adapting learning resources as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers and professionals to meet individual needs.
- Promote independence and life skills development.
- Assist with classroom management and support positive behavior strategies.
- Provide feedback on students' progress to teachers and parents.
- Help prepare learning materials for diverse learning styles.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS).
- Understanding of strategies for managing challenging behavior.
- Experience working with children with physical disabilities or sensory impairments.
