Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fabrication Estimator to join our team in Gogar, Edinburgh. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely cost estimates for structural steel fabrication projects.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyse engineering drawings, specifications, and client requirements to determine the scope of work.
- Calculate material quantities, labor hours, and equipment needs.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including direct labor, materials, overhead, and profit.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Assist in the development of project schedules and timelines.
- Provide technical support to the fabrication team throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and implement effective strategies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Fabrication Estimator in the structural steel industry.
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
