Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor the ordering of materials through the production cycle
  • Prioritise schedules, customer orders, or requisitions to determine items to be procured
  • Provide complex clerical support to purchasing and materials management
  • Communicate with purchasing regarding shipping requirements and respond to inquiries related to packing lists and shipping instructions
  • Compile and maintain records of materials received or shipped
  • Provide inventory control and order book management for the Rail Systems service business
  • Collaborate with Project and Fleet Managers to ensure materials availability for projects and fleets
  • Deliver the warranty returns administration process and coordinate ongoing claim management and resolution
  • Ensure delivery of replenishment and repairable parts is in compliance with planning and optimised inventory levels
  • Implement safe systems and controls within your area of responsibility

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Sound knowledge of best practise procurement and buying processes
  • Experience in stock control and inventory management
  • Detailed knowledge of materials, stores management procedures, and warranty processes
  • Good knowledge of IT systems/software
  • Strong organisational skills
  • CIPS Professional diploma in Procurement and Supply

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Familiarity with the rail industry
  • Experience working in a similar role within the manufacturing or logistics sector

Technologies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with inventory management software
