Are you ready to take the lead in transforming logistics operations? Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Logistics Project Manager to spearhead a critical re-organisation and optimisation project. This is your chance to make a tangible impact in a dynamic environment!

About the Role:
As a Logistics Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the delivery of materials to the production line. This position requires an individual who can work collaboratively across various functions both locally in the UK and internationally. You will be instrumental in aligning our processes with those of our sister factories across the Siemens network, ensuring the best practises are implemented and maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor material management/logistics activities in projects, ensuring an economical and customer-focused supply chain.
  • Develop and continuously enhance project-specific customer supply chain concepts based on requirements and cost accounting principles.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Procurement, Purchasing, and Project Management to coordinate supply chain-specific requests.
  • Contribute as a Project Core Team member, analyse project change decisions, and implement measures to optimise supply chain processes.
  • Evaluate potential suppliers for project-related logistics services, conduct audits, and recommend preferred suppliers to Project Management.
  • Lead the planning and completion of tenders for logistics services, providing thorough evaluations and recommendations to Project Management.
  • Develop and implement logistic contingency measures to mitigate risks.
  • Prepare and support awarding meetings with suppliers, ensuring effective coordination and reporting on implementation.
  • Monitor all aspects of construction site logistics, including logistical infrastructure, equipment, and external service providers.
  • Assist in the cost accounting of supply chain costs, providing accurate reporting to Project Controlling and Project Management.

  • Proven experience in logistics and warehouse management, particularly in setting up new warehouse operations.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to run projects independently and support existing management teams.
  • Proficiency in SAP and standard project management tools like MS Project.
