OLG Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Shift Process Technician to work for a major client based in Goole. This is a temporary contract position approximately until February 2025. After a two-week training period, the working hours will compromise of two shifts 06:00 14:00 and an afternoon shift of 14:00 22:00.
The role of a shift technician in A700 can be summarised as follows.
Core activities in the role are the charging of liquid and solid raw materials from drums, IBCs and sacks as well as overseeing the automated transfer of bulk material from the tank farm vessels into the blending vessels. Training for this is provided.
Sampling of products from designated sample points is part of the role. Training for this is provided.
Operation of the two pastillator machines is also a core part of the job role for those technicians working shifts. Training for this is provided. This pastillation operation sees molten products transfer from the blend vessels as a liquid to a pastillated solid (~3 mm pastilles) which are cold and solid. These are packed into either boxes or sacks. When packed into sacks, these are packed and palletised by an automated sack filling system and a robotic material handling system. When filling to boxes (either 15 kg or 20 kg) these require manual handling onto pallets.
Some products are packed to boxes but the great majority of production goes into 25 kg sacks via the fully automated system.
The majority of products handled in the area are non-toxic. We do use some small quantities of acids and alkalis for pH adjustment via contained pipework systems which are computer controlled.
For those technicians working in a day or 2-shift role, the majority part of the role is packing of liquids into packs which can range form 20 litre packs to 1,000 litre IBCs.
A current RTITB fork lift truck certification is desirable but not essential. Use of a powered pallet truck (PPT) is part of the role, for which training will be provided.
