The Scottish Hospitals Inquiry is seekingfour experienced Paralegalsto join its legal team for a12-month contract.As a Paralegal, you will play a key role in the investigative work of the Inquiry, supporting the Solicitor to the Inquiry, and Legal Counsel. You will be responsible for handling large volumes of legal documentation, assisting with witness statements, supporting Counsel in investigations, and contributing to reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist solicitors and Counsel in reviewing and analysing evidence
  • Prepare reports, legal documents, and case materials
  • Support Counsel ininvestigations and witness interview
  • Manage core participant applications and documentation
  • Liaise with theInquiry Secretariat and Communications teamto ensure external publications meet guidelines
  • Assist withfunding applications, invoice assessments, and financial processes

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Paralegal experience, ideally within aninquiry, regulatory body, or large-scale legal review
  • Stronglegal research, analytical, and document management skills
  • Excellentwritten and verbal communication
  • Ability to handlecomplex case materials and meet tight deadlines
