Electrical Field Service Engineer required for a safety solutions manufacturer (including fire safety solutions, manufacturing etc.). The successful candidate will have similar experience before. This is a new position to primarily cover Edinburgh, Scotland, and Northern England. This could also cover other EU locations as their experience grows. The candidate would need to be located in Edinburgh.

The ideal candidate will have experience in control and instrumentation to carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on explosion suppression & isolation systems at customer locations as required.



Electrical Field Service Engineer - Edinburgh Position Overview

  • Work on varied industrial sites, predominantly around the UK and Ireland.
  • To complete Electrical, Control and Instrumentation site-based inspections, and perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on installed systems to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
  • Diagnose technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting problems, and offering timely solutions. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by delivering exceptional service and acting as a reliable service engineer.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of service visits, technical issues, resolutions, and customer interactions.
  • Travel to customer sites as required, often on short notice, to perform maintenance and repairs. Flexibility in travel schedule is essential.
  • Adhere to the SHEQ & regulatory regimes.


Electrical Field Service Engineer - Edinburgh Position Requirements

  • HNC (or equivalent experience) qualification in a suitable engineering discipline, ideally with a focus on Instrumentation and Control Engineering
  • Proficient in using Windows, Gmail, Word, Excel.
  • Multi-skilled background - electrical, mechanical, controls & instrumentation.
  • Valid driving licence - preferably clean.

Ideal experience (Not essential)

  • Proven track record of field maintenance experience - preferably the industrial sector.
  • CompEx trained.
  • Knowledge / experience of ATEX environments.
  • C&G 2330 (or 2365) parts 2 & 3.
  • Ability to use Salesforce.
  • IPAF Certificate.
  • Health & Safety qualification.


Electrical Field Service Engineer - Edinburgh Position Remuneration

Salary : £38,000 - £40,000, plus o/t. On-call allowance, once passed initial Service Level 1 training.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Probation period : Initially 6 months but could be extended if necessary

Holiday: 23 days annual holiday + bank holidays - with 3 days being automatically allocated to the Christmas week. This rises to 27 days with service.

Pension: 8% non-contributory, upon successful completion of probation period. There is also the option for voluntary contributions by salary sacrifice.

Life Assurance : 2 x gross basic salary.

Annual profit share scheme in place - not guaranteed.

All relevant IT, mobile phone etc. will be provided for home office setup - a good home broadband connection is vital for this.

Company vehicle provided (Likely brand new lease van for this role), (a car derived, Peugeot Asphalt)
