Description

A Performance Analyst Lead works on all services designed and delivered by the programme and Social Security Scotland Agency, collaborating with colleagues across these areas to understand the performance of both products and their related services. This roles feeds into the existing evidence base of both qualitative and quantitative data, to provide a full picture, informing the work of Content Designers, Digital Accessibility Specialists, Interaction Designers, Service Designers, User Researchers and Design Operations, alongside the Head of User Centered Design and programme leadership. A Performance Analysis Lead also manages more junior performance analysts at any level, coordinating teams or groups of related analysts.

This role in particular looks to define the role of Performance Analyst leads as an increased capacity within the User Centered Design team.

Performance Analyst Lead's will:

* Assist, take forward and influence the strategy as determined by the Head of User Centered Design or senior colleagues in the SG DDaT profession, including data implementation and data architecture;

* Remove blockers and act as an escalation point for key issues;

* Provide advocacy and ambassadorship for analytics across communities, departments and government;

* Be responsible for the accuracy and quality of data, analysis and how they are used;

* Proactively share knowledge and promote a data-driven culture as a leader in the community;

* Work with other User Centered and evidence based colleagues to advocate for a multi-disciplinary, user centered approach to designing and understanding products and services; and

* Coach and mentor senior performance analysts, performance analysts and associate performance analysts.

Additional Duties include:

* Evaluating and understanding routes for improved Performance Analysis in the in-house design team

* Taking advice from senior colleagues in the Data profession, define, deliver and evaluate a performance measurement approach and platform for the Division

* Participate in and/or support programme and project assurance activities

* Other duties as required by SG to support wider corporate activities

* Work with senior colleagues in the SG Data Profession to assure the quality of the Divisional Performance measurement approach and platform.

Essential Criteria

  • Strong proficiency with Google Analytics, Data Studio and Tag Manager (or other digital analytics platforms): instrumenting, administration and analysis. This should include understanding of APIs, data security and privacy.
  • Detailed understanding of and practical experience of using different data tools to transform, analyse and visualise data sets e.g. spreadsheets/Excel, Tableau.
  • Experience of discovering and sharing analytical insight with stakeholders with various levels of analytical expertise and at all levels of seniority.
  • Experience of gathering and understanding technical requirements and working with developers to build suitable technical solutions.
