Overview
Sanderson Recruitment are working with a well-regarded public sector organisation who are looking to add a Software Developer with experience of building modern GIS products on a day-rate contract basis. This role can be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh with occasional office visits, both office locations are easily accessible by road or public transport.
This engagement will focus on the delivery of a system which will act as a replacement and retirement of a legacy mapping system by delivering modern GIS products
Required Skills
Applicants should have demonstrable commercial experience working with most of the below technologies:
- Python 3 and/or Java 17+
- PostgreSQL/PostGIS
- Modern DevOps and CI/CD practices including deployment pipelines and Jenkins.
- High performance computing and geometric methods relating to GIS
- AWS including:
- CDK
- Serverless (Lambda)
- S3
- SQS
- API Gateway
- CloudFormation
- Aurora/Postgres
You should also be comfortable delivering high-quality software solutions in a collaborative manner as part of a high-performing, cross-functional team. You should be comfortable adopting agile ways of working and developing solutions using human-centred, research-driven, inclusive design practices.
