Static Facilities Services Engineer (No On-Call)
Haymarket, Edinburgh
Circa £38,000 per annum

The Opportunity: We are looking for a Static Facilities Services Engineer to join our team at Haymarket Gate, Edinburgh. In this role, youll play a key part in maintaining a safe and comfortable working environment for our customer by performing both planned and reactive maintenance, attending site meetings, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out maintenance and engineering work on HVAC, electrical, and life safety systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards, following safe working practices.
  • Keep site logbooks up to date and maintain accurate stock records.
  • Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and complete all required maintenance on time.
  • Attend meetings, health & safety briefings, and toolbox talks as required.
  • Support the Technical Supervisor and provide cover during absences when needed.
  • Complete all planned maintenance and promptly respond to any reactive issues.
  • Assist with building fabric maintenance and repairs as necessary.

Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge:

Essential:
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Completed Apprenticeship and trade qualifications in a relevant technical field (Electrical Bias preferred).
  • At least 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Familiarity with large mechanical and electrical systems, including:
    • HVAC, UPS, LTHW & Chilled Water Systems.
    • Low Voltage Distribution and BMS.
    • Legionella control (L8) and building statutory requirements.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and experience in planned maintenance.

Desirable:
  • Health & Safety training and qualifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in customer-facing roles.
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse and dynamic team.
