Outreach Support Worker
  • Locations: Dalkeith, Rosewell, Gorebridge, Newton Grange, Loanhead, Penicuik
  • Pay: £12.50 per hour
  • Contract: 12-week contract with potential for permanent placement 
  • Hours: 36-hour week, with flexibility for additional hours
  • Shift Times: 36 hours 08:30 - 18:30 (5 days a week with 2 consecutive days off and every second weekend off)

We are seeking two dedicated Outreach Support Workers to join our Learning Disability outreach service. This role involves supporting individuals with learning disabilities across various locations (depending on where you are based), with the opportunity to make a significant impact in the community. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide support to individuals with learning disabilities in their daily activities across multiple locations.
  • Initially participate in shadow shifts to become familiar with the individuals and their needs.
  • Manage your rota effectively throughout the 12-week contract period.
  • Work a rotating schedule, including every second weekend off, subject to annual leave and sickness cover.
  • Cover specific areas, potentially handling 5-6 visits per day.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year experience in a similar role in the UK.
  • Commitment to a 12-week contract with the potential to extend or transition to permanent employment.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours if required.
  • A caring and supportive attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Drivers and non-drivers welcome; public transport users should be able to navigate the areas effectively.
