Their Specialist Teaching Facility is designed to cater to the unique needs of children requiring additional support They are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team on a temporary, part-time basis starting in January.
Job Description:
TeacherActive are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in our Specialist Teaching Facility for 2 days a week. The successful candidate will support the classroom teacher in delivering tailored educational programs, assist with the personal care needs of students, and help create a positive and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering individualised development plans (IDPs).
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with additional learning needs.
- Help with the personal care needs of students, including feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to the classroom teacher.
- Support students during transitions and break times.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the well-being and development of all students.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Will have relevant experience of working with children (minimum of 6 months)
- Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools
- Experience working with children, particularly those with severe and complex additional learning needs, is preferred.
- A compassionate and patient approach to working with children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A good understanding of child development and educational practices.
- Relevant qualifications in education or childcare is essential.
Working Hours:
- 2 days a week (Thursday and Friday).
- Temporary position from January 2025 to August 2025.
