The Distribution Operations Manager responsible for the issuing of work tasks to the shop floor via the Warehouse Management System.  These tasks come in the form of Receipts, Marshalling, Loading, Despatching and Cycle Counting activities, that are keyed into the WMS system, so the shop floor have visibility of the workload.  Paperwork is then generated for loads by the WMS system and is passed onto the hauliers for delivery to our customer base.

Alongside this activity it will be expected that pallets be managed, reported and invoices checked on a weekly basis and the pallets owned that are at customer premises are controlled and kept to an acceptable level.  Reconciliation will be performed of despatches versus physical balance versus invoice.  Two systems are used to ensure the safe access and egress of commercial vehicles, and all paperwork is accurate for all vehicles entering and leaving sites.

Main Duties

  • Manage the despatch and receipts process through the warehouse management system
  • Manage the control of pallets into our customer base by keeping up to date records, liaise with customers and suppliers to recover pallets
  • Checking of invoices keeping our financial consequence to absolute minimum.
  • To manage the traffic-visiting site, ensuring that commercial vehicles have safe access and egress.
  • Ensuring vehicle key control is enforced within the lorry park
  • Coordinate daily with traffic planners and customer service on vehicle no shows
  • Keep running logs of vehicles entering site and leaving ensuring that documentation is correct.
  • Daily processing of parcel carrier work, ensuring that labels and documentation is present and the warehouse have a manifest to work on.
  • To primarily provide efficient, accurate statistical information and maintain department systems
  • Generating customs documentation where required for all countries.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Previous experience in a similar administration role and a fast-moving environment
  • Be able to work a double day shift
  • Good knowledge of MS office including Excel
  • Understand stock management inventory
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
