Job Description:

Are you an experienced professional in laboratory and facilities management looking for an exciting new challenge? We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our cutting-edge facility. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety, compliance, and efficiency of our laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safety and Compliance:Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring all health and safety regulations are up to date and adhered to, including risk assessments and control of hazardous substances.
  2. Facility Maintenance:Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and testing of laboratory equipment, ensuring everything is in optimal working condition.
  3. Operational Management:Manage the operational aspects of the facility, including security, IT procedures, and compliance with ISO accreditation and other regulatory requirements.
  4. Staff Induction and Training:Update and deliver facility induction packs and briefs to new staff and visitors, ensuring everyone is well-informed about safety and operational procedures.
  5. Resource Management:Collaborate with technical staff to manage research, test, and evaluation equipment, and ensure the facility is equipped with the necessary protective and specialist equipment.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a laboratory setting and facilities management (excluding property management).

This is a fixed-term contract position, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to our innovative projects over a 12-month period.
