Meraki Talent are supporting with the appointment of a permanent Financial Controller based close to Grangemouth paying £75,000 - £80,000 plus bonus & a strong benefits package.

The Role

The new Financial Controller will inherit a team and function that is in a very good place, with the challenge being take it on a journey of "good to great". The Finance Director wants to adopt a phased approach with new Financial Controller gradually taking a wider remit, but initially it will begin with financial control, financial accounting, transactional finance and special projects.

The key components of the role will include

  • Reporting to and deputising for the Finance Director
  • Finance business partnering with SLT to aid in direction, strategy and decision making
  • Leading on several high profile process & continuous improvement projects
  • Hiring, training and development of finance professionals including Accountants, Supervisors and Accounts Assistants
  • Reviewing and developing processes, procedures, controls & systems
  • Preparation of statutory accounts & returns
  • Annual audit preparation including lead on liaising with External Auditors
  • Production of monthly management accounts
  • Balance sheet integrity & management
  • Intercompany transaction management
  • Ensuring a robust month-end close
  • Overseeing transactional finance - purchase ledger, sales ledger & payroll

Candidate Profile

We are keen to engage with qualified Accountants that can demonstrate a proven track record of operating with financial management positions. Financial control, financial accounting and transactional finance experience is essential, with ideally an individual managing team sizes of 5 employees +.
