Mechanical Engineer
Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting our client based in Middlesbrough with the appointment of adriven, ambitious mechanical engineer who has experience in both design, and ideallyproject managementwithin the heavy engineering sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading business who operate one of the UK's largest and most strategic engineeringfacilities, and the company itself focus on driving innovation, sustainability and operational excellence to provide efficient supply chain solutions to businesses across the UK and beyond. The role is full time and permanent (35 hours/week Mon-Friday), with flexible working hours, a competitive salary, excellent benefits and a clear progression path.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to manage mechanical engineering aspects of capital projects, ensuring successful, safe and cost-effective solution in line with project requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Design and develop mechanical solutions, ensuring technical specifications, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee procurement of mechanical equipment and services, managing relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure designs and systems comply with UK health, safety and environmental standards, conducting risk assessments to ensure safety regulations re met..
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies for equipment, and support operations teams.
  • Manage budgets for mechanical components, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maintaining quality
  • Previous experience using engineering software including AutoCAD, Inventor and StaadPro.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills to report project progress to stakeholders and management.


Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Chartership status highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience in the design and delivery of engineering projects.
  • Ability to undertake technical hand calculations and use engineering analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of UK health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to report and communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders and management.
