Our Grantham based client is seeking an Operations Manager to join their team. This role focuses on process improvements, troubleshooting operational challenges, and enabling senior leadership to concentrate on strategic growth initiatives, including customer relationships, product development, and service expansion.

THE ROLE

The Operations Manager will oversee daily operational activities across warehouse and production teams, ensuring efficiency, seamless coordination, and compliance with organisational standards. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Schedule cyclical stock checks to maintain inventory accuracy on a monthly basis.
  • Conduct quarterly audits of rack pick locations against on-hand computer stock levels.
  • Oversee the maintenance of warehouse assets.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance agreements and service contracts are up to date.
  • Continuously improve production processes to increase efficiency and support growth.
  • Collaborate with the Sales & Operations Manager to ensure seamless order-to delivery execution.
  • Oversee operator’s license compliance and driver training.
  • Ensure all training, safety checks, and legal compliance are current and relevant.
  • Manage recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of warehouse staff and drivers.
  • Leverage experience in manufacturing to guide the business in establishing its own in-house machining division.
THE CANDIDATE

The successful Operations Manager will enhance operational oversight to support the company’s growth and drive consistency and productivity across departments. Other attributes to have include:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a focus on process improvement.
  • Experience in manufacturing operations, particularly in setting up or managing machining processes.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across departments.
  • Degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or a related field (Desirable not essential)
  • NEBOSH or IOSH for Health & Safety (Desirable not essential)
