Our client is one of the UKs top regional accountancy firms, specializing in accountancy/tax as well as supporting clients with legal services, IT support, and wealth management. They are looking to appoint a Tax Director to lead the delivery of UK corporate tax compliance work, taking responsibility for client relationships and delivering projects.

Established for over 100 years, they provide services to more than 12,000 businesses and individuals. Our client is offering the opportunity for rapid progression to higher positions for the right candidate who can show previous experience.

Responsibilities:

As part of the management team, you will provide direction and leadership within your service line in accordance with our culture and values, including formulating plans and policies, and ensuring our strategic and operational objectives are met.

Key accountabilities

  • Oversee a portfolio of high-value corporate clients, providing expert tax compliance and advisory services. Build strong relationships, acting as their trusted adviser and ensuring a seamless client experience.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Work closely with colleagues in other departments to identify tax-related opportunities and risks for clients, ensuring a holistic approach to service delivery.

Qualifications:

To successfully provide comprehensive tax advice on a range of complex issues, you will have advanced technical knowledge in areas including transfer pricing, R&D tax relief, group reorganisations, patent box.

Although not an integral part of the role, you will contribute to business development initiatives, building relationships with potential clients and collaborating with directors to expand our corporate tax offering.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax law and regulations
  • Experience in corporate tax compliance
  • Excellent client relationship management skills
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach
  • Ability to work on multiple complex assignments
  • Qualified CTA, ATT, ACA or ACCA
