GSL Education are striving to look for a Behavioural Support Assistant in the charming town of Grantham. Being involved in a supportive setting and giving crucial support to kids who need it most is a fulfilling opportunity.

As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting them to effectively adjust to school life. This role entails collaborating closely with educators and support personnel to apply behaviour management techniques, offering focused assistance and fostering a welcoming and inclusive learning environment in the classroom.

Responsibilities of the Behavioural Support Assistant:

  • Provide personalised assistance to students with behavioural challenges, ensuring they receive the support needed to succeed academically and socially.
  • Work with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement effective behaviour management plans.
  • Track and report on the progress of students, adjusting support strategies as necessary to promote improvement.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive classroom environment by employing appropriate behaviour management techniques.
  • Help prepare and organise materials and resources to support students' behavioural and academic needs.
  • Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with additional needs.

Requirements of the Behavioural Support Assistant:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in supporting children with behavioural challenges.
  • Relevant qualifications, including Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, patient, empathetic and understanding approach to engaging with students, staff and families.
  • A dedication to creating a welcoming and encouraging learning environment.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
