SEMH/ Behaviour Teaching Assistant | Grantham, NG31 | 95 - 105 | ASAP

Are you an experienced teaching assistant with a background in supporting young people with autism and challenging behaviours? Would you like to support young people with social, emotional and mental health needs?

Long-term futures is excited to present this opportunity to work as an SEMH Teaching Assistant within one of our partner schools. You will be joining a school devoted to providing outstanding learning for all pupils. This role has the potential to become a permanent position for the right person following a successful trial day.

What does this role entail?

  • Working with school staff to maintain good behaviour in class and during 1:1 sessions, and to monitor progress.
  • Quickly building strong working relationships with students, and act as a positive role model.
  • Promote and reinforce self-esteem and encourage achievement and development in students.
  • Plan and deliver interventions for students accessing additional SEMH support.

Sounds good, what do I need?

  • You will need to be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need.
  • Have a responsive and caring approach.
  • Be able to form effective relationships with staff and pupils.
  • Have experience working with special educational needs.
