Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Reactive/Preventative)

Are you a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a proven track record of mechanical maintenance of machinery and equipment looking for your next exciting career move within an industry-leading business? The purpose of this role is to ensure the safe, smooth, and proper running of machinery. You will prevent, diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic and some electrical issues while ensuring a culture of Safety First in an industrial environment.

Primarily centred around Waste Management, this business is expanding rapidly in the fields of Resource Recovery and Circular Economy, ensuring nothing truly goes to waste. They are leading key UK and Ireland sustainability projects as they look to recycle more materials ranging from Metals, Plastics and Oil through to Hazardous Waste and identifying ways to utilise these to create clean energy and fully recycled products.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Perform reactive maintenance to ensure machinery operates at optimal performance levels and ensure the safe, smooth, and proper running of machinery, plant and equipment.
  • Mechanically biased role with some electrical work involved, with further training and development for electrical skills.
  • Replace bearings, inspect compressors, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Maintain and repair equipment including conveyors, pipework, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding tasks.

What We Are Looking For?

  • Mechanical Maintenance background, with some electrical experience if possible
  • Confident mechanical experience, preferably in hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and general plant machinery
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
