GSL Education ‘Lincolnshire Branch’ are currently collaborating with an outstanding school located in Grantham that is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with SEN.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEN, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their educational goals. This position involves working closely with students, teachers, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide individual and group support to students with SEN, helping them engage with their learning and manage their emotions and behaviour.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, adapting materials and strategies to meet the specific needs of SEN students.
  • Track and report on the progress of students, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating their achievements.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies, promoting positive behaviour and addressing any challenges appropriately.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to students, helping them to develop coping strategies and build resilience.
  • Maintain regular communication with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting students.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working with students with SEN.
  • Possess a relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field is a plus.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to working with students.
  • Have an excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
