Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Vehicle Technician. This role involves carrying out a variety of maintenance tasks and complex vehicle repairs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about automotive work, highly skilled in diagnostics, and committed to providing exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs across various makes and models
- Carry out inspections, including MOT preparation, brake inspections, and emissions checks
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Replace and repair vehicle components such as brakes, tires, exhausts, and engines
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Automotive Mechanic, or in a related role
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, braking, suspension, and transmission
- Proficiency with vehicle diagnostic tools and equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in identifying and addressing issues
- Knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to adhering to workplace health and safety standards
- Good communication skills to work effectively in a team and provide updates to colleagues
- Valid driver's license is required
Desirable Skills:
- NVQ & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent certification
- Prior experience with MOT testing or certification is advantageous
- Knowledge of electrical systems and modern vehicle technologies
Working Hours:
- Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break
- Flexible option to work on Saturdays if needed
