Support Worker Learning Disabilities and Mental Health - SW London - SEND school
Timeplan is currently working with a large SEN school in South West London, who are recruiting several child support workers to start ASAP. All positions are full-time long-term opportunities
The school:
An Alternative Schooling Provision which caters for young adults aged 10- 19 with various SEN including Mental Health, Complex Needs and Autism.
The position:
- Your role will involve supporting the class teacher, Support Staff and multi agency teams devise learning and care plans and to encourage the child/ young person to reach their full potential.
- You will be required to set clear boundaries and manage triggers of challenging behaviour whilst supporting the child academically, emotionally and socially.
- Children at this school have multiple complex and sensory needs- Support workers looking to be trained as Teaching Assistants/ Cover supervisors are encouraged to apply.
- Psychology graduates or graduates looking to work with SEN are also encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate:
- Experience working with Challenging Behaviour within an Education, Residential or Support Setting
- Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (we can provide you with details on how to start a new application)
- Previous support work within a school or other child related experience
- One to one and small group work
- Professional manor
- Enthusiasm and friendly approach
