We're looking for a dedicated Housing Officer to join our team in Gravesend, where you'll play a crucial role in supporting our residents and ensuring our housing scheme runs smoothly.

Purpose of the Role: Be the driving force behind our housing scheme, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for our residents, primarily those over 60.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Housing Support: Be the go-to person for residents, handling everything from food and fire alarm testing to dispute resolution.
  • Property Management: Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and maintenance. Minimise void periods through effective property letting.
  • Tenant Support: Help tenants sustain their tenancies, enforce conditions when necessary, and organise engaging activities.
  • Compliance: Adhere to organisational policies, health and safety regulations, and GDPR guidelines.
  • Staff Supervision: Oversee cleaning staff and service contractors, ensuring adherence to policies.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous housing experience is essential.
  • Skills: Strong IT proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook), excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attributes: Adaptable, solution-oriented, and capable of working under pressure.
  • Checks: Enhanced DBS check required.
  • Logistics: A car is recommended due to travel between houses. Head office is in Tunbridge Wells.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Housing Management Experience: CIH qualification desirable.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to supervise and appraise staff, arrange training, and manage leave/absence.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexibly and under pressure.
