SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Gravesend

Contract: Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-time

Salary Scale: £83.33 - £90 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Educations are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs at a vibrant school in Gravesend. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about inclusive education, looking to make a positive impact in students' lives.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support, assisting students in their academic and personal development. Working closely with classroom teachers and SEN coordinators, you will help create a nurturing environment that encourages student growth and independence.

Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Support classroom activities and monitor student progress
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social interactions among students
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff to adapt resources and approaches for individual needs

Qualifications for an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and behaviour management techniques
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with students
  • Patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to student support
