Responsibilities of a Teacher of Food Technology:
  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Food Technology and Hospitality & Catering across KS3 and KS4.
  • Develop and implement creative, practical, and challenging lesson plans that ignite student interest and foster skill development.
  • Inspire students to explore topics like nutrition, food science, and the hospitality industry.
  • Maintain a safe, well-equipped classroom environment and promote good health and safety practices.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress to ensure they meet or exceed their potential.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the design and delivery of a dynamic Food Technology curriculum.
The Ideal Food Technology Teacher Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Specialism or proven experience teaching Food Technology and/or Hospitality & Catering.
  • A commitment to delivering practical, inspiring, and inclusive lessons.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage practical lessons effectively.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to apply for one.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for fostering creativity and a love of learning in students.
