Laboratory Technician

Reed Scientific are looking for a Laboratory Technician who will join a premier innovator in the field of nutrition and sustainability.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Analyse raw materials, intermediate products, finished products, and process chemicals, ensuring all data is accurately recorded in both the Laboratory Information System and paper-based systems.
  • Assess compliance with material specifications and advise on their suitability for use, organising additional investigative measures and interpreting data in cases of non-compliance.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure correct functioning and troubleshoot.
  • Participate in analytical method development and deliver training when required.
  • Provide support for product development activities as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate stocks of chemicals and disposable goods.
  • Ensure effective communication of all relevant information between shifts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with GC, ICP, and basic wet chemistry techniques such as titration is required.
  • Experience with HPLC, GC-MS, and working in an analytical laboratory within a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
  • A bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related subject, or extensive relevant laboratory experience.
