ADVERT:

Our Client is looking for a Highways Technician/Paviour to carry out the operational work involved in the maintenance, repair and upkeep of carriageways, footpaths, drainage systems and associated items.

Duties:

  • Lay paving and kerbs
  • To construct, reinstate or erect: new gullies and manholes, including working in confined spaces and using breathing apparatus if required
  • To repair damaged gullies and manholes, including working in confined spaces and using breathing apparatus if required
  • Fit/repair soak away systems
  • Drainage and connection of drainage systems
  • Kerbs, edgings, blocks and paving slabs
  • Street furniture, signs, seats, barriers etc

Requirements:

  • Health & Safety including Manual Handling and COSHH awareness and confined space working
  • Current City & Guilds Certificate in Street works or relevant work experience
  • Tarmac experience - ESSENTIAL
  • Driving licence - ESSENTIAL
