We are seeking a dedicated Plant Operator to join a comprehensive waste management company. This role is crucial for ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring all procedures are followed accurately.
Day-to-day of the role:- Assist in traffic management to minimize queues and turnaround times on site.
- Manage waste acceptance and ensure outgoing loads meet the specifications of receiving disposal sites.
- Ensure Material Recovery Facility (MRF) bays are emptied by 4:30 PM and that the plant is parked safely away from any combustible materials after 5 PM.
- Manage waste to ensure it does not exceed the rear wall height (minus 50cm) and that loads tipped within one hour of closing or out of hours have a 6m break.
- Proven experience as a Plant Operator or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and environmental policies.
- Ability to operate and manage heavy equipment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in task management.
- Capable of following complex instructions and adhering to procedures.
