Job Title: Shift Process Operator

Responsible To:

Department: Operations / West Thurrock

Reporting To: Shift Chargehand

Job Purpose:

Shift Process Operators are responsible for overseeing the production process of a chemical plant facility. The goal of a process operator is to monitor equipment and improve the quality, efficiency and safety of the manufacturing plant.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Use of Data Acquisition software to monitor the condition of process parameters
  • Reading instruments and making adjustments to settings as required
  • Packing and storing finished batches
  • Manual operation of valves, pumps and set points.
  • Taking scheduled samples for lab or on plant self-analysis.
  • Supervision of goods in and out, including loading unloading of road tankers and using forklift trucks.
  • Physical data logging onto paper records for archiving.
  • Some manual work including cleaning and replacing filters etc.
  • Ensure that any problems are reported to the relevant manager/department immediately
  • Ensure that personal protective clothing is worn at all times.

As this is a 24/7 site you are required to work on a shift rota basis which will include shifts covering nights and weekends.

  • Carry out any reasonable duties as identified by the Chargehand or Site Manager
  • Positively represent ICL to our customers and suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual employment obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with our ISO standards.
  • Fully participate in the company's performance management and development programmes.
  • Maximise own ability to produce quality work, on time, and to brief, utilising best skills and available technology.
  • Work in accordance with the Company's Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements at all times.
