Do you want to be part of making Thurrock fit for the future?
Thurrock Council is on a major change journey and is looking for people to help in the delivery of this. Following the Council being put into intervention in 2022 a vast amount of work has already been successfully undertaken to ensure the Council is back on track and moving towards financial stability, but there is more to do.
The Council is currently recruiting to a number of roles across the finance team to help drive the Councils new Corporate Plan 'A Fresh Start for Thurrock’, which sets out how they will operate over the next five years as it recovers and rebuilds trust with residents and communities. The finance team will play a hugely important role in securing the Councils future.
Reporting into the Head of Financial Strategy and Planning the Finance Lead role will work closely with senior stakeholders across the Council, Freeport and external bodies, providing financial support including a full business partnering service to the Freeport. This will include providing advice and support to aid decision making, preparing reports for Cabinet and board, developing financial models, business case review, monitoring cashflow and providing advice around additional funding and governance. This role is part time, looking at 3 days per week.
To be suitable for the role you need to be a fully qualified accountant with previous experience of providing a finance business partnering service with the ability to challenge and influence. Previous experience of developing financial models and producing high quality reports is also essential.
We are looking for ambitious finance professionals who are excited by a challenge and being part of a transformation programme that will have a massively positive impact on the local community. If this is you, do please get in touch.
The closing date for these roles is Monday 27th January.
