Exciting opportunity to bring your experience of Business Partnering to a newly created Head of Finance Business Partnering role. As a result of organisational change, the finance function is being brought in house and this role will support the organisation with financial decision making for this well known education organisation.

As Head of Finance Business Partnering, you will redefine the month end process, design a forward facing business partnering service, develop insightful reports for the Board and work with the budget holders to provide tactical support to help aid sound financial decision making.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Efficiently manage the business partnering staff on a day-to-day basis with an emphasis on quality process and outcomes
  • Analyse and reporting the income and expenditure gaps between the corporate/"top-down" financial plan and the sum of the business unit/"bottom-up" budgets
  • Work with the SLT, and relevant staff to effectively establish and agree budgets
  • Providing the necessary information, advice and guidance to budget holders and senior management as to the options for the closure of financial performance gaps
  • Oversee and develop the Business Partnering relationships of the team with budget holders and to seek continuous improvement in the service alongside key stakeholders as part of a comprehensive and strategic business partnering culture
  • Facilitating training to budget holders and staff with financial responsibility to enable them to undertake their responsibility in an effective manner
  • Produce a set of monthly management accounts papers in line with the department's reporting timetable
  • Responsibility for the maintenance, update and reporting of the group's financial forecasting and modelling processes to meet internal and external stakeholder requirements

In order to be successful in the role we are looking for;

Formally qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA) with experience of financial reporting, budget setting and 3 year financial planning at organisation and departmental level (setting, monitoring and forecasting budgets). You will also have strong business partnering skills gained in a fast paced, changing environment, excellent communication skills with a positive, 'can do' attitude.
