The Role: Ocean Freight Logistics Administrator - Thurrock, Essex - £25,000 - £33,500

One to One Personnel’s successful client is on the lookout for a friendly and organised Ocean Freight Logistics Administrator to join their dynamic team! In this role, you will play a crucial part in the planning, execution, and coordination of their ocean freight shipment processes. Your primary mission will be to ensure smooth sailing from start to finish, handling everything from documenting shipments to liaising with carriers and clients. You'll be the go-to person for tracking shipments, resolving any issues that may arise, and ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards. Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage container documentation for import/export, including preparation and submission.
  • Handle CDS processes accurately, using systems such as Descartes.
  • Raise ARCs for under bond movements and exports.
  • Discharge T1 documents and update NCTS.
  • Liaise with shipping lines and negotiate rates for transit.
  • Provide strong customer engagement by explaining goods in and goods out, and customs processes to customers.
  • Plan and manage FCL, LCL, and Groupage with warehouses, including client’s own warehouse.
  • Coordinate with hauliers to ensure timely collection and delivery of goods.
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in ocean freight logistics is essential.
  • Experience with excise goods (alcohol and/or tobacco) is desirable.
  • IT literate with strong written and spoken English abilities.
  • Ability to commute to Thurrock daily.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

The Package

  • Competitive salary of £25,000 - £33,500 per annum
  • Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (1 hour lunch)
  • Group Pension Scheme with employer contribution of 4%
  • Death in Service benefit (4x salary)
  • Holiday entitlement 20 days plus bank holiday
  • Onsite parking
