Crane Fitter required. Our client is a leading provider of crane hire and lifting solutions across the UK. They are looking for an experienced crane fitter or plant fitter with transferable skills to join their established Gray's depot, the ideal candidate will be experienced in Mechanical Fitting, have hands on Crane experience, will be experienced working on a range of Hydraulic, Pneumatic and electrical systems and will be based within a commutable distance of Grays.

This role requires a manual driving licence.

Crane Fitter Position Overview

  • Conducting regular services, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on the fleet of cranes, including mobile, tower, and crawler cranes.
  • Diagnose faults and implement corrective measures on the fleet of cranes.
  • Perform routine checks and scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure longevity of equipment.
  • Work alongside the operations team to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimise downtime.
  • Ensure all safety regulations and company policies are adhered to.
  • Keep accurate records of work carried out and parts utilized.
  • Provide technical support and advice to the team and clients when required.
  • Take part in continuous training and development to keep up with industry standards and technological advancements.
  • Occasional need to travel to site in the event of a break down.

Crane Fitter Position Requirements

  • Qualifications such as an NVQ Level 3 in Plant/Heavy Vehicles Maintenance or equivalent would be beneficial
  • Previous experience as a Crane Fitter, Plant Mechanic, or a similar role.
  • Previous knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity in working in line with health and safety standards
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
  • CPCS Card Holder or equivalent would be desirable
  • Welding and fabrication skills desirably.
  • Within a commutable distance of Grays.

Crane Fitter Position Remuneration

  • £15.00-£18.00 an hour dependant on experience
  • 40 Hour working week (Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30).
  • Overtime available.
  • 31 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.
