Permanent RoleCompetitive DOE40 hour working week, early finish Fridays. 25 Day Holiday per annum + Public Holidays.Christmas shutdown.Pension scheme.Onsite Parking My client is an established sub-contract laser and fabrication company, based in Grays, Essex.  Due to growth within the company, they have a requirement for a Sales Estimator to join their existing team in the Sales Office. Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales Estimator will be a dynamic, target-driven, and pro-active individual, with strong commercial awareness skills, The Estimator plays a critical role in understanding customers’ needs and requirements and executing high quality, accurate, and detailed job costing estimates in a timely manner. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and customer service orientation to ensure customer satisfaction, profitability, and the overall success of the business. Key Responsibilities of the Sales Estimator:
  • Accurately and efficiently compile customer quotes, in an effective and timely manner.
  • Communicate with customers regarding any specific requirements and ensure that any communication with the customer is documented.
  • Produce accurate quotations from the receipt of enquiry in line with the required profit margins.
  • Ensure all customer needs are met and they receive a quality service for prices and technical information.
  • Conduct quote follow up calls and use negotiating skills to convert orders.
  • Meet set deadlines in returning prices to our customers.
  • Source external prices from suppliers where necessary.
  • Work closely with the Sales team in identifying and securing new opportunities.
  • Strengthen our reputation in the market through positive customer experiences.
  • Be the point of contact with clients including raising & answering queries etc.
  • Respond to questions and queries both internally and from our customers.
  • Support the Sales team by communicating with customers when directed to do so.
The ideal candidate for the Sales Estimator will have:
  • Proven experience as an Estimator in Manufacturing / sheet metal industry.
  • Ability to prepare and issue RFQ packages and analyse returned quotations from a commercial and technical viewpoint.
  • Good contractual acumen and experience in the production of fixed price, target cost, and reimbursable estimates.
  • Good arithmetic & computer skills – Outlook, Excel etc.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Self-motivated and focused, with a flexible attitude.
  • Good attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy & a commitment to quality.
  • Able to work on & use own initiative & problem solve.
  • Demonstrate a professional & courteous attitude.
  • Act with integrity & honesty.
  • Strong customer service, negotiation, and relationship building skills.
