Service Care Legal are seeking an experienced Housing Lawyer to join an Essex-based local authority on a 3-month ongoing assignment. You will handle a broad range of housing and litigation matters, with office cover required two days a week and court attendance.

ROLE: Housing LawyerLOCATION: EssexRATE: £40 to £50 per hour (LTD)CONTRACT: 3 month ongoing Assignment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft Claim Forms & Particulars of Claim and represent the Council in possession hearings.
  • Handle Housing Disrepair claims, Homelessness cases, and Warrants of Eviction.
  • Provide legal support on ASB (Anti-Social Behaviour) cases and breaches of injunctions.
  • Assist with general litigation work as needed.
  • Work collaboratively within the legal team.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, legal Executive or Barrister with a current practising certificate in England & Wales
  • Proven experience and sound knowledge of Housing Law and litigation.
  • Ability to handle possession matters, ASB cases, and other housing-related disputes.
  • Desirable: Background in a local authority.
