We are seeking a proactive and strategic Transport Planner to join our client's team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in the transport industry and strategic planning. The successful candidate will manage driving requirements, analyse capacity, and ensure efficient vendor spend while maintaining compliance with site delivery rules.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Scope out geographical areas to optimise routing and logistics.
  • Conduct capacity analysis to ensure optimal utilisation of resources.
  • Create and manage vendor spend reports to control costs effectively.
  • Manage daily loads and driving hours to maximise efficiency.
  • Ensure that site delivery rules are consistently updated and adhered to.
  • Engage in strategic planning with a lateral and critical mindset to improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage and control overall spend in the transport department.
  • Collaborate with hauliers to ensure they can meet current demands and plan effectively for future projects.
Required Skills:
  • Proven experience as a Transport Planner or similar role.
  • Strong ability to perform strategic planning and capacity analysis.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in creating detailed reports and managing budgets.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
